Your EBI guide will pick you up at your hotel for a day trip to Alexandria. First visit Pompey's Pillar. It was built in honor of Emperor Diocletian in the late 4th century. Originating from the Temple of Serapis, it was once a magnificent structure that rivaled the Soma and Caesarium. Next, you will drive to visit the Catacombs, the largest Roman cemetery made up of three levels carved into the rock. We will have lunch at a local restaurant in Alexandria, and then we will go to see the Citadel of Qaitbay, built on the site of the ancient pharaohs (House of Light) of Alexandria, and then to the Library of Alexandria. Finally you will return to your hotel in Alexandria.
Note: If the Library of Alexandria is closed. You can visit the Roman Theater instead
